The Sorceress and the witches begin to darn against the couple. The opera opens wi th Dido in her court with her attendants. Belinda is trying to cheer Dido up, that Dido so sad. Belinda believes the source of this sadness is because Trojan Aeneas Trojan suggests that Carthages troubles could be pertinacious by getting married. She tells him that he must scourge Carthage and put a new Troy on Latin soil.
